Manuel Jimenez is an Associate at TencerSherman, LLP and a licensed attorney in both California and Mexico.
Mr. Jimenez helps employers build compliant workplace foundations — employee handbooks, employment contracts, and HR policies — to prevent disputes before they start. He advises employers, public entities, school districts, and businesses on compliance with California and federal workplace laws, helping them identify legal exposure early and put practical safeguards in place. His practice is especially suited to businesses with multi-jurisdictional operations, Spanish-speaking workforces, or cross-border considerations, drawing on his fluency in Spanish and binational legal background.
Mr. Jimenez also litigates employment and civil matters, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage and hour, and PAGA claims. He has served as first chair in trials in both California and Mexico, represented clients in arbitrations and mediations, argued dispositive and procedural motions, conducted depositions and evidentiary hearings, and drafted motions, briefs, and settlement agreements.
Before joining Tencer Sherman, Mr. Jimenez was a trial attorney at the Legal Aid Society of San Diego, where he first-chaired multiple trials. Before practicing in California, he spent over a decade in the Federal Judiciary of Mexico as a commissioner for Federal Courts and Federal Appellate Courts, advising judges and magistrates, drafting judicial rulings, and presiding over mediations and hearings.
Outside the office, Manuel was a Division I soccer player in college and now spends his free time with his wife, Katia, and their daughter, Adria.
