Lauren D. Sherman

Lauren Sherman advises and represents clients in a broad range of labor and employment matters and devotes a significant portion of her practice counseling employers with respect to employment and compliance issues. Lauren’s practice focuses mainly on revising and drafting employee handbooks and drafting position statements on behalf of clients in response to employee complaints to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the California Civil Right Division. Lauren has drafted hundreds of employee handbooks and an equal number of position statements.
Prior to joining Tencer Sherman, Lauren worked at a nation-wide Employment Law firm where she gained experience defending employers in all phases of federal and state litigation, including arbitration, mediation, and trial preparation and handled claims involving: discrimination, sexual harassment, wrongful termination, and retaliation. However, Lauren spent a considerable amount of her time drafting EEOC and CCRD position statements, and she gained a unique specialty in drafting position statements.
Lauren graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1999 with a B.A. in English. She then attended law school at California Western School of Law in San Diego, graduating in 2006.
